Color Theory: Reference Table for Designers

I remember I posted an article on color meanings long time ago [ Logo Colors: Use Responsibly] and recently I’ve stumbled on to a nice quick reference table for designers and wanna share it with you. Designed by Paper Leaf Design, this table is a must-have tool for any designer.

Why? Because every color has a meaning, a term, a code, you name it. And when you’re applying a color you have to be careful and responsible for your choise. Using proper color is very important in any design. For example, red color means – fire, danger, love, passion, intense, hyper and so on; blue – means sky, depth, masculine, trust… It’s a very interesting field.

Sometimes we don’t recognize amazing things right under our noses, like color meanings here. Usually taken for granted, colors do mean something.

Color Names Depend On Your Gender

It may seem funny but it is real. As a male designer, I maybe have to know the color names (actually, I prefer HEX codes) but I usually just call them by a few common names. But when it comes to girls, here come the fancy stuff. “It’s not pink, it’s a bubble gum color!
