Beautiful Vexel ArtNowadays you may face the word more and more frequently, especially among digital artists, on design blogs, portfolio sites, etc. But what does it really mean – vexel?

Today I will try to explain the term, where it came from, what does it mean, how it’s made and show you some examples. Best for those who understand what does vector and raster mean.

Number two. Why we are unique when there are hundreds of logo design services online? All of the advantages you can see in Prices and Order section, but one thing I will tell you – you get Unlimited Revisions, for real. A lot of logo designers offer “unlimited revisions” but they are that – in quotes, if you dig deeper you will see that you get actually limited count of revisions unless you pay more.

Dragon Parade in Sundsvall

Dragon Parade in SundsvallToday I will take you a bit off the topic. However, we’re still talking about design. Ever wondered if dragons still exist? Yes they do. In Sundsvall, Sweden.
Every Summer a Dragon Parade takes place in city center. They place variously designed dragon sculptures in different places. There are like 40 or more different dragons. Every one of them is unique and represents some theme; you can see a basketball player dragon, one taking a bath in public, one with a gnome on its back and so on and so on.

The dragon has become the symbol of Sundsvall, representing their devastating past and triumphant move forward from the ashes. From high school mascots to store names, their presence can be found everywhere in the city.

But the most noticeable dragons are those of the Annual Dragon Parade. Read more »

A Nice Site Every Designer Must Bookmark

Inspiration is always vital. The Internet gives us many resources for inspiration, way too many, and there are thousands of crappy sites that we come across with during the search. The sites which you close after two seconds. They waste your time.

That’s why we use bookmarks. Every one of us has some bookmarked websites that we know are useful and guaranteed. But there’s always an interest for something new.

Today I was stumbling the web and a nice link list website came up. I’ve bookmarked it immediately, for it is a plain categorized list of inspiration links. As stated in their “about” section: “It is a website focusing on the best links for designers and developers. There are a lot of good and bad websites out there and we collect the high quality ones for you right here. Read more »

What Happens to a Computer When It Boots Up? [Infographic]

What Happens To A Computer When It Boots Up?First things first, what’s an infographic? Simply, an infographic is a graphic visualization of some data [i.e. statistics], which lets people read complex data much easier. And it became really popular these days as it is just much more interesting and “friendlier” to read images instead of plain text as in old student books.

Today you can find tons of various infographics around the web covering zillions of topics. Some of them are really cool and maybe even must-have. I will post some best of the bests soon.

I tried do make one myself, it shows the boot process of a computer. Ever wondered what really is happening in the darkest corners of your machine’s innards? I tried to visualize the process. See it for yourself and judge. Read more »

Threadless.com: Design a T-Shirt and Get $2500

Threadless.comIf you are a computer geek, even more if you are a designer you should probably know what Threadless.com is. The guys behind that website created a place where you can buy creative T-shirts made by various designers from all over the world and [if you are a designer] you can make money by designing one nice idea and submitting the tee…

Sounds so nice and simple, BUT…

Getting your custom design T-shirt accepted by the staff is not that easy. Most probably that your design will be declined. There are many “unknown” reasons for that and Threadless won’t explain the details.

But the community built over the years is pretty nice and friendly. Guaranteed, you will get valuable feedback [most of them will sound like "oh, it's nice, please check mine as well"] that will guide you to a better result. So the main point is to be patient and stubborn [I lack both, that's why I didn't finish my designs:) ]

If you fail to get your design accepted you lose the chance of getting more than Read more »
